Playground
Earth is tethered to the stars,
As are Jupiter and Mars,
Like the schoolyard ball and rope:
Such is the grounding of our hope.

Rocked
The heft of the Rock
In our front yard
Holds down the earth,
Restrains its mirth.
Thank God for such a
Stable weight
To help our laughter
Germinate.

"God Is Dead"
Look around you, what do you see?
The universe is empty space;
Nothing but matter in motion.
This thought makes me a basket case,
Unless of course that ilk is wrong,
And empty Earth's a trysting place,
For God to meet the human race
(And not His final resting place).
All that's missing then is grace
To see the face of God and live.

Elements
I do not like the water,
I do not like the rain;
I do not like the earth and fire,
And air gives me a pain.
Such thinking of the elements
Gives me cerebral drain.

Musings
The whirligig of time spins round,
While the Earth stands still;
Or is it just the other way?
Such motion makes me ill.

100,000 MPH
Standing on the Lunar surface,
Looking toward the Earth,
I got hit by a meteoroid:
All that's left is dearth.
